I Am The World's Biggest Idiot

Last month I saw this poster in Cathay Cineleisure in Orchard.
For the last three weeks I've been waiting patiently for December 11, 2009.

I placed it in my calendar. I called up my friend. I told her how excited I was in this EPIC remake of my favorite animation series of all time.

December 10, 2009: you can just imagine my excitement.

"This is it!"

NERDVANA.

And as I was searching online to buy advanced tickets I realized my ONE FATAL mistake...

"...Wait, what? 12.11.2009 meant 'November 12, 2009'??"

And my world came crashing down.

Like this:
Who would've thought that during the whole time I was waiting and anxiously anticipating, the thing I wanted most in the whole world to see was already passing me by.

Too late did I realize it.

FUCK IT.

Story of my life.

...I'll go stand in the corner now, Ma'am.

. . .

In the famous words of Asuka,

"ANTA BAKA?!"

Fan Service! The Girls of Eva

Left to right: Mari Makinami Illustrious, Asuka Langley Shikinami (formerly Soryu), Rei Ayanami. Shinji is an asshole for having all these women.

After watching the camvid, English subbed Eva 2.0, I think Asuka just somersaulted her way to the top of my list. Anno made her a lot more vulnerable and lovable. And so did Rei. Mari has a long way to go in my list, but her outfit makes her tie with Rei in second place.

Geekgasm.

Evangelion Rebuild

I'm reading the Google entry on the Evangelion (series, glossary, angels). Apparently director Hideaki Anno will be making 4 new movies rebuilding the whole franchise. Apparently this started 2007. And apparently there are a lot of things that I haven't appreciated in the series before when I was the same age as Shinji and Asuka. Now I'm the age of Misato, I begin to understand why the movie was made that way and why it started out from a mecha series and ended to a soft sci fi-metaphysical-psychological head trip.

I will be downloading the 1st and 2nd releases. I hope the 3rd and 4th releases would finally put a better conclusion to what happens to the Human Instrumentality Project instead of just having Shinji and Asuka on a sea of LCL vs Shinji being applauded for finally realizing that individuality is worth it despite the "Hedgehog Dilemma."

I sense another short bout of clinical depression looming.

Maron out.
